Hi Sweety,
It's funny how you just turned one and grandma just turned 51!!!! I can't believe were the time has gone. I remember when your mommy was one year old and so cute just like you……She was so tiny and loveable and very much just like you……She had very little hair and made the cutest expressions and loved to smile just like you….Grandma remembers when she learned to walk and mastered it very quickly just like you…..
Funny, how are children and their children turn out to be so much like you…..
I love you Grace and wish I could see you everyday……love grandma

Happy Birthday to
you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to Gracie, Happy Birthday
to you! Believe me Doodlebug, you don't want to HEAR Nana sing that
to you. Can you believe you are 1 year old already? It doesn't seem
that long ago when your daddy called to tell Pappy and me that you were
here and we could hear you crying in the background. That was such a
blessed day. Your mommy and daddy wanted you for so long. I guess God
wasn't ready to send his best angel, but we thank Him everyday that
he did.
You are such a blessing to all of us.
I
just want to leave you with a few facts that you may find interesting
when you are older: The day you were born, gasoline was $2.79 a gallon,
today it is $3.19 a gallon.
A gallon of milk was $2.99 and today it is $3.62. A loaf of bread was
$.99 and today it is $1.59. The day you were born your Nana was 229
lbs and today she is 245 lbs. Then your Nana was 49 years old, but soon
she will be 51 years old. So Doodlebug, I wanted to show you how
fast things go "UP". ( I can tell you are so thrilled with
this news) :)
Have a very happy birthday. We love you very much and can't wait to see you soon. Possum says, "hi" and to thank you for her name. She loves it.

Hi Grace,
How was your 1st Mother's Day with your mommy? As you grow older you
will
realize even more what a terrific mom you have. I know she can't wait
until you hand her your first handmade gift for Mother's Day. I want
to tell you something very important. Later when you are old enough
to read this on your own, you will have the secret to your mommy's heart
forever. The secret to a happy mommy is homemade gifts. Isn't that the
neatest thing you have ever heard? How simple is that? Just remember
what Nana has told you. (But don't tell mommy and she will be so surprised
later.)
Also, thank you for such a special present and beautiful family photo. I have already used my bag on our overnight trip. It is just what I wanted (and needed). You are so smart when it comes to things like that. I wanted to tell you that Possum lovessssssss her name. I can't wait until you meet her. She is in bed with Pappy right now. He says he doesn't like cats, but seems to have her in his lap all the time. :)
Well Nana is out of wind so she will say goodbye for now. I love you, Doodlebug.

Hi Grace,
I just wanted to tell you and mommy thank you for the beautiful bag with your picture! Also, thanks for the nice cards from both of you. It made me really miss you a ALL even more. I sent uncle Ben back home today so I was sad to see him go. And then when I got back home there was the package for mothers day! I love it and it made me feel great!!! I also realized how lucky and blessed I am to have such wonderful children and grandchildren. I can't wait to see you again. I love you and you take care of mommy and daddy!

Hello my love…..
Grandma misses you so much. I think of you many times each day and wonder
what you are learning and seeing with those big blue eyes! My visit
with you and your mom and dad, was absolutely the best time I have had.
I look at your pictures everyday that I have hanging in my office at
work. Many people comment on how beautiful you are. You are very lucky
to have such a wonderful mom and dad…..They are teaching you all
the things you need to know. And I am sure you are teaching them as
well. I love you and miss you and will comment on here again soon. Can't
wait for more pictures of you and all the things you are doing.

Well even though I haven't met you I need to tell you some things about your Dad and Mom but, you will have to wait until you are much older. I was your neighbor prior to your birth and moved to this beautiful island where palm trees sway in the gentle blowing breezes, well most of what I said is true. My family and I can't wait to see you!!
